Dinusha Bhaskaran, MD Vallibel One is ‘Corporate Leader of the Year’
Award presented by WIM at the Top50 Professional & Career Women Global Awards,
Managing Director of Vallibel One, Ms Dinusha Bhaskaran was a top recipient at the recently concluded Top50 Professional and Career Women Global Awards ceremony organised by Women in Management (WIM) in partnership with International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Australian Government under the program of ‘Women in Work’ held on June 17 at the Shangri La Hotel, Colombo.
Launched in 2011 by WIM, the Professional and Career Women Awards which has now transcended to global status, recognises and celebrates the accomplishments of proficient and consummate career women in Sri Lanka and around the world who have made a positive contribution and a difference in their chosen fields.
Dinusha Bhaskaran, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK (FCMA), is the Managing Director of Vallibel One PLC which has over 55 strategically diverse companies in its portfolio.
Having the distinction of being one of the pioneering women to head a large conglomerate in Sri Lanka which has an annual turnover of over six billion rupees, Ms Bhaskaran has re-engineered and turned around many companies in the Group within a short span of time.
As the Managing Director of the Delmege Group Ms Bhaskaran was responsible for revamping and propelling the Group’s 12 business verticals into a modern and dynamic enterprise. At present she also serves in the capacity of Non-Executive Director on the Boards of LB Finance PLC, Vallibel Power Erathna, Multi Finance PLC, Country Energy Pvt Ltd and as the chairperson of the LB Finance Audit Committee. She is also the Chairperson/Director of Greener Water Ltd, a recent investment of USD 60 Mn in the leisure sector of Vallibel One.
Commenting on the award, Ms Bhaskaran said, “I am indeed honoured, humbled and overwhelmed with gratitude to receive this prestigious award. This recognition will certainly inspire me to continue to do better and mentor and help those around me to reach their goals and greater heights.”
An avid reader, Ms Bhaskaran continues to upgrade her knowledge continuously to stay up to date and connected. She is also a firm believer in the work-life balance and empowers her staff and delegates duties to her carefully hand-picked teams. Her never say die attitude has given her the strength to shatter the glass ceiling and overcome all obstacles in reaching for her goals.

Her magnetic personality and charisma has always stood in good stead to inspire confidence and close many a deal for the companies she manages. Living by the mantra ‘Nothing is impossible,’ Ms Bhaskaran is indeed a role model who should be emulated by one and all.
